The process starts with the hand cutting of leaves and roots in the field. Then onions are carried to our store houses where they are processed and packed. The store houses are located on the same National Road Nº 3 and have an easy access for transporting.



Once in the store houses, onions are dumped into a hopper which allows a controlled and uniform admission to the packing line. Then they are brushed to eliminate loosing skins, debris and roots, to remove dust and to give the brightness that characterizes the coloured bulbs. The brushing machines have an aspiration system to complete the cleaning process. The result is onions with excellent looking and colour, free from all kind of ordinary particles.



In the following step there is table for onion selection. It is built with rotary rolls that make quality control easy to our experienced staff. Onions that do not gather the standard requirements are leftover warranting an equal and sane product.




After that, bulbs are classified in sizes according to their equatorial diameter in order to satisfy each client necessities.




At last, onions are packed in bags for exportation. These bags are weighted in hand operating scales and sealed with a sewing machine, leaving some space to protect bulbs during handling and transporting. In this way, PATAGONIONS look forward the highest quality onions to answer the most demanding markets requirements.
